Personal Customer Service:
The appointment staff is available as soon as you telephone. It is our belief that a woman in need of an abortion should be able to speak directly to a trained staff member who will answer questions and concerns, schedule an appointment and hopefully lessen any anxiety about the surgery.

Surgery is scheduled by appointment only and must be made 24 hours in advance. It is preferred that the patient telephone herself to schedule an appointment. We know your time is valuable. However, we ask that you give us 7-10 minutes to obtain necessary information, schedule your appointment and receive important instructions for the day of your surgery. Our patient confidentiality policy is strictly enforced. No one will receive your private information without your specific written consent and knowledge.

Unmarried patients under the age of 18 are required by Georgia State law to have a parent notification note on the day of surgery. This note needs to state that your legal guardian or parent is aware that you are terminating your pregnancy, and then they date and sign the note. The note becomes a permanent part of your medical record and is kept confidential. To protect confidentiality, no home telephone calls are made.

The office is open Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday 7:00 am - 12:00 pm. The appointment staff will be happy to assist you, answer any questions you may have or direct concerns to the appropriate staff member for medical clearance. Patients with a medical history of problems such as a heart condition or previous abnormality of the uterus need clearance from their private physician and/or the medical director of NWC. This is for your safety.

Important Instructions on the day of surgery all patients should:

• ARRIVE PROMPTLY AT YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME.
• ARRANGE TO BE HERE 2 HOURS.
• HAVE A RESPONSIBLE ADULT DRIVER/COMPANION WHO MUST REMAIN IN OUR WAITING AREA THROUGHOUT YOUR STAY. IF THEY DROP YOU OFF OR LEAVE, YOUR PROCEDURE MAY BE CANCELLED FOR THAT DAY.
• WEAR LOOSE, COMFORTABLE CLOTHING.
• WEAR OR BRING A WARM PAIR OF SOCKS.
• NO JEWELRY IS TO BE WORN. THIS INCLUDES JEWELRY FROM THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD TO THE BOTTOM OF YOUR TOES!

MOST IMPORTANTLY, PATIENTS MUST NOT HAVE ANY WATER, OTHER LIQUIDS, FOOD, GUM OR CANDY FROM 12:00 MIDNIGHT BEFORE THE SURGERY UNTIL AFTER THE SURGERY IS PERFORMED.
